Overview
Sofia Backstage® Service Portal enables distribution of wide variety of mobile TV interactive services. Sofia Stage® Client for Mobile is a Java-based application for portal and information services designed to handheld terminals and mobile phones. Typical use-case is multichannel content distribution on traditional TV channels in any TV-delivery network, including mobile systems.
Sofia Stage® Client for Mobile connects to the head-end solution - Sofia Backstage® servers for Broadcast delivery as well as any http-compatible server for unicast delivery - as the return channel. The client application can be delivered using cellular network or in the DVB-H broadcast. The mobile device client software can be installed onto most of the current Java MIDP enabled terminals.
Network operators can utilize Service Portal for providing value-added information services for every service in the network. The end-users can adopt the extra services with a familiar and tailored user interface thus attracting returning users.
