Sofia Backstage® Benchmark System is a tool for measuring the performance and capabilities of MHP receivers. It contains tests which measure the overall features of the receiver as well as tests which concentrate on the specific areas such as graphics performance or SI data retrieving. Test results can be sent to a server and compared with other receivers on the market.

MHP receiver and middleware manufacturers can use  to find out possible bottlenecks and compare the performance of the receiver to other receivers in the market. Test results help the manufacturers to find out areas that may need improving and indicate the effect of possible modifications.

Broadcasters can use Sofia Backstage® Benchmark System to compare different receivers and find out if receivers are suitable for their network and services. For example pay-tv or cable operators providing receivers for their customers can use the results of the Sofia Benchmark to choose between different receivers. Broadcasters operating in a retail market environment will also find the Sofia Benchmark Application useful in determining which MHP receivers to recommend to their viewers.
