Sofia Digital and Abertis Telecom, the Official Mobile TV Network Provider for Mobile World Congress, cooperate to showcase value-adding services on DVB-H
Barcelona, February 11, 2008. Sofia Digital provides interactive services for Abertis Telecom's Barcelona city-wide DVB-H network during Mobile World Congress between 11th and 14th of February. The goal of the cooperation is to showcase new revenue opportunities in the emerging mobile TV markets. Visitors having a DVB-H compliant mobile phone or device can access broadcast mobile TV channels with interactive services during the show.
Interactive mobile TV services available during the show include:
- Video Chat and Mobile Digitext. Video Chat enhances the regular TV channel by allowing viewers to interact with the TV program and other viewers.
- Weather forecast. The application is a comprehensive weather service available while watching the specific channel.
- Mobile Digitext service. Broadcaster's news and information services are published for access from the specific channel. .
Interactive services are created and managed with Sofia Backstage® for DVB-H solution. Solution is integrated to Abertis Telecom head-end and is used for creating all of the interactivity for participating TV channels. Sofia Backstage® for DVB-H is also used by Abertis Telecom to manage the programming information for all channels available in the electronic service guide.
Sofia Digital Mobile TV solutions are demonstrated at
the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 11-14 on the Sofia Digital
stand 1F07 at exhibition hall 1 and on the Abertis Telecom stand Hall 3 -
Spanish Pavillion.
